There are many ways the Apprentice can acquire the Clothing, Hairstyles, Pet Houses, Tokens, and other items they want to improve their Towns and Town Residents. In addition to collecting items in their travels, the Apprentice can acquire items by shopping in various towns in Alaria. In order to go shopping, 
, or in some cases EverKoin, is needed as currency.
Below are just a few of the places where the Apprentice can go shopping, and what each building sells. Note that the items offered at each shop are randomized and change daily, and that different stores of the same type will have different items on the same day.
Alchemy Batteries, Ancient Coins, and Chest Keys
Airship Shop
This store, which appears on random days on certain Worlds the Apprentice has planted, sells three items per day, always Alchemy Batteries, Ancient Coins (Firus or Signa), Gold Keys, and/or Iron Keys. Note that the Airship Shop accepts Myora only, not EverKoin.
Festival Grounds
The tent at the Festival Grounds (on event days only) may offer Alchemy Batteries, Ancient Coins, and/or Chest Keys, among other items.
Flower Shop
In one corner is a table that offers four of these types of items per day.
General Store
The table by the front door will occasionally sell Alchemy Batteries, Ancient Coins, and/or Chest Keys; on other days a given General Store may have only Building Tokens.
Building Tokens and Resident Tokens
Building Tokens improve the status of the Apprentice's buildings, while Resident Tokens can do everything from improving a Resident's skill level to changing their careers and even their names.
Bathhouse
Inside each Bathhouse, there is a table behind the large pool area. On this table the Apprentice will find Resident Tokens for sale.
Flower Shop
There is a small table in the corner that will sometimes sell Building Tokens and/or Resident Tokens.
General Store
Occasionally the table by the front door will sell Building Tokens; on other days a given General Store may have only other Consumable items.
Temple
At the top of the stairs, the temple has a table on each side of the building with various Resident Tokens for sale.
Pet Houses
Critter Center
At the front counter beside the cash register will be a small box tied with a ribbon which represents the Pet Houses that the Apprentice can buy. Three Pet Houses can be purchased at each Critter Center each day. Placing the purchased Pet House in one of the Apprentice's House Token slots will allow the Apprentice to send their adopted pet to one of these little homes.
Pet Houses are also a rare drop from Iron and Gold Chests. Note that before the January 2022 game update for PC users, Pet Houses were not available for purchase anywhere, and that console players may still not be able to purchase them from Critter Centers yet.
Clothing, Glasses, and Hats
Festival Grounds
The tent at the Festival Grounds (on event days only) may offer Clothing, Glasses, and/or Hats, among other items.
Tailor
The Apprentice can buy different dresses, shirts, skirts, and pants from the Tailor; Hats and Glasses are sold there as well.
Beards, Hairstyles, Hair Dyes, and Mustaches

The tent at the Festival Grounds (on event days only) may offer Facial Hair, Hairstyles, and/or Hair Dyes, among other items.
Hair Salon
On one side of the Salon, the Apprentice will find stands displaying six different styles of hair for the Apprentice's, or Residents', heads and faces.
